# Getting Started on ChimeEdu: Complete Student Guide

> Learn how ChimeEdu works for students — joining classrooms, completing quizzes, submitting assessments, and studying with flash cards.

ChimeEdu is your classroom in a browser. Your teacher creates activities and posts them to your classroom feed — you complete them from any device, without needing to install anything. Everything your teacher assigns lives in one place, ready when you are.

## What you'll do on ChimeEdu

## Do you need an account?

It depends on what you're doing:

* **For most activities** — yes. You need a ChimeEdu account to join a classroom, track your progress, and submit assessments.
* **For live quizzes** — you can join as a guest using just a join code. No account needed to play, but your results won't be saved to a gradebook.

<Note>
  Creating a student account is **free** — no credit card required. It takes less than two minutes.
