# Draft Study Guides Faster with ChimeEdu AI Assistance

> Use ChimeEdu's AI to turn your notes and curriculum materials into a structured study guide draft — then edit it before publishing.

The Study Guide AI assistant takes content you paste in and helps scaffold it into a structured, student-ready draft. Instead of starting from a blank page, you start from your own material — and the AI helps you shape it into something your students can navigate and study from effectively.

## Using AI to draft a Study Guide

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open or create a Study Guide">
    From your classroom dashboard, open an existing Study Guide or create a new one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Generate with AI">
    Select the **Generate with AI** option in the Study Guide editor toolbar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Paste in your source material">
    Paste in your notes, a curriculum document, or a textbook excerpt. The more context you provide, the better the draft.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the AI-generated structure and content">
    The AI will return a draft with suggested headings, sections, and expanded content. Read through the full draft before making any changes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Edit, add, remove, and refine">
    Use the full rich text editor to adjust the AI's output. Add your own examples, remove anything that doesn't fit, and rewrite sections to match your voice and curriculum.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish when ready">
    Once you're satisfied with the guide, publish it to your classroom. It will appear immediately in your enrolled students' activity feeds.

## What the AI does

The Study Guide AI is focused on structure and clarity. Specifically, it:

* **Suggests section headings** — it reads your pasted content and proposes a logical hierarchy of topics and subtopics.
* **Expands bullet points into paragraphs** — short notes become readable, student-friendly prose.
* **Organises content into hierarchical sections** — related ideas are grouped together so students can navigate complex topics without losing their place.

  Paste in multiple sources at once — for example, your own lesson notes alongside a relevant curriculum document — for a more complete and well-rounded draft.

## What the AI doesn't do

It's equally important to know the AI's limits:

* **It doesn't invent facts.** The AI only works from the content you paste in. It will not add information, statistics, or claims that weren't in your source material.
* **It doesn't publish automatically.** Nothing is sent to students without your explicit action. You always review and publish.
* **It doesn't replace your judgement.** The draft is a starting point. You decide what's accurate, appropriate, and pedagogically sound for your students.

  You can **Accept** or **Dismiss** individual AI suggestions inline within the editor — you don't have to accept or reject the entire draft at once.
