The Teachers page
Everyone whose ChimeEdu account is linked to one of your campuses appears here. That includes people who accepted a teacher invitation and people who picked your school during account setup. Finding people. Search by name or email, filter by campus (when you have more than one), sort by name, email, campus, or join date, and page through long rosters. Export CSV downloads every teacher matching your current search and filter, not just the page on screen. Two badges you may see on a row:- Also staff — this teacher is also a member of the dashboard. Their account is managed from Members, so the row is view-only here.
- Administrator, Principal / Dean, or Other — the person chose that account type at sign-up. They’re on the roster because they’re linked to a campus, not because they teach.
- Self-claimed — the teacher picked your campus themselves at sign-up and hasn’t accepted an invitation or been verified by a matching school email. Their account page offers Send invitation to verify; use the Link filter to list them all.
Opening an account
Manage (or View, for Leaders) opens the account page: identity, security status (email confirmed, two-factor, passkey), the campus and institution they’re linked to, their ChimeEdu plan and how much of it they’re using, and when they last signed in. Billing details are never shown — plans belong to the teacher and are managed by ChimeEdu.Editing details
Email changes take effect immediately, with no re-confirmation step, and the teacher’s previous address is notified so they can raise the alarm if it wasn’t expected. The campus you choose must be one of your institution’s campuses.
Email changes and password resets are not available for self-claimed teachers — the ones who picked your campus themselves and haven’t accepted an invitation. Send them an invitation from their account page first; once they accept, both actions unlock.
Sending a password reset
Admins and IT can send a teacher the standard password-reset email from the Security card. It’s the same link a teacher would get from “Forgot password” and expires after an hour. Nothing about their account changes until they use it.Unbinding a teacher
Unbind (Admins only) removes the link between the account and your campus. The teacher disappears from your roster and analytics, and their students stop appearing on your Students page. Their account, classrooms, and activities are not touched — this is the right tool when someone leaves for another school. To hand their classrooms to a colleague first, use Reassign. The Students page
Students belong to your institution through their teachers: anyone with an active enrollment in a classroom owned by one of your teachers is listed, with a count of how many of your institution’s classrooms they’re in. Search, sort, paging, and Export CSV work the same way as on Teachers. Student accounts are view-only for everyone. You can open a student’s account page to see their identity and activity, but no staff role can edit a student. IT members don’t see the Students page at all.Student data here is visible to Institution Admins and Leaders under the same “school official” basis as your own student information systems. The Performance page never shows anything per student — see Performance and Adoption.
