An Experience is how your teacher documents a field trip or journey on ChimeEdu: a map of where the trip goes, a schedule of stops, the travel plan, who’s leading it, and a running journal of the trip itself.
Experiences are written by your teacher. You read and explore an Experience — there is nothing to submit, and no journal entry for you to write. If your teacher wants work from you about the trip, they’ll set that up separately, for example as an assessment or a study guide.

Opening an Experience

Your teacher will either share a direct link to the Experience or list it in your classroom. Open your classroom page and look in the Experiences tab. Some Experiences are password-protected. If yours is, you’ll be asked for a password before the content loads — your teacher will give it to you.
If your teacher mentioned an Experience but you can’t see it on the classroom page, it may be set to restricted. Ask them for the direct link and the password.

Trip map and locations

Every stop on the trip, plotted on a map. Open a location to see its description, the dates and times it’s scheduled for, and a photo if your teacher added one.

Journal entries

Your teacher’s write-ups of the trip, organized into entries. These are the story of the journey — what happened, what to notice, what to remember.

Travel plan

How the group gets between stops — flights, buses, ferries, and boats, with departure details where your teacher has added them.

Who's on the trip

Profiles of the staff leading the Experience, so you know who to find if you need help.

Files and resources

Documents your teacher has attached — permission forms, packing lists, reading, itineraries.
Your teacher chooses what’s visible. The travel plan and the resources section can each be hidden, so don’t worry if your Experience doesn’t show them.

Following the trip as it happens

Each location carries a status that reflects where the trip has got to: These update from the trip schedule and from your teacher — you don’t need to check in or mark anything yourself. Reopen the Experience during the trip to see how far along the group is and to read new journal entries as your teacher adds them.

Frequently asked

Not inside the Experience — journal entries are written by your teacher. If your teacher wants your reflections on the trip, they’ll ask for them another way.
No. If you have the link (and the password, if there is one), you can open an Experience without signing in.
There’s nothing to see — viewing an Experience doesn’t record anything against your name.
Refresh the page first. If it still won’t load, check your connection and try a different browser, then tell your teacher which stop and which browser you were using.
