Quick Activities let you create a temporary activity instantly — no account or classroom setup required. Share a join code or link with your students, run the session, and ChimeEdu handles the rest. Every Quick Activity auto-expires after 8 hours, keeping things clean and commitment-free.

When to use Quick Activities

Quick Activities are designed for moments when you need something interactive immediately, without the overhead of a full classroom setup.

Demos and showcases

Show ChimeEdu to colleagues, school leadership, or parents without needing to create an account first.

One-off lessons

Run a standalone activity that doesn’t belong to an ongoing unit or classroom — a topical quiz, a revision session, an end-of-term activity.

Impromptu sessions

The class is engaged and you want to capitalise on the moment. Open ChimeEdu and launch something live in under a minute.

Substitute teacher lessons

Leave a Quick Activity ready for a cover teacher to run. No login, no setup — just share the link or code.

Conference presentations

Run a live audience poll or quiz during a talk or professional development session without any account requirement for participants.

Testing the platform

Try out a new activity type before building it as a permanent classroom resource.

Activity types available as Quick Activities

Quick Activities support the activity types that work independently of a classroom context: All Quick Activities are available on the Free tier — no paid plan required.

Creating a Quick Activity

1

Visit app.chimeedu.com

Open app.chimeedu.com in any browser. You don’t need to be logged in.
2

Click "Create a Quick Activity"

On the homepage, click the Create a Quick Activity button. This takes you directly to the activity builder — no sign-in prompt.
3

Choose your activity type

Select the type of activity you want to create: Quiz, Map, Flash Cards, Timeline, or Fill-in-the-Blank.
4

Build your activity

Use the editor to add your content — questions, pins, cards, events, or blanks depending on the activity type. All the standard authoring tools are available.
5

Share the join code or link

When your activity is ready, ChimeEdu generates a join code and a shareable link. Share either with your students — they join from any browser, no account needed. The activity auto-expires after 8 hours.

Quick Activity vs. Classroom Activity

Use this comparison to decide which approach fits your situation.
Quick Activities do not require an account to create or join — they are available to everyone on the Free tier, including users who have never signed up for ChimeEdu.
Results from Quick Activities are not saved to a classroom record. Once the activity expires, the session data is gone. If you need persistent results, gradebook tracking, or cross-device student progress, create a classroom-linked activity instead.
Quick Activities are a great way to introduce ChimeEdu to sceptical colleagues. Build a short quiz, share the code, and let them experience it as a student — no account required on either side.
