ChimeEdu includes two optional AI tools: AI-assisted Study Guide drafting and the ChimeEdu AI Creation Assistant. Both work the same way at heart — you describe what you need, optionally attach source material, and the AI produces a draft that you review and control.

What’s available today

ChimeEdu AI Creation Assistant

Describe an activity in plain language — “make a flash card deck from this file” — and the assistant drafts it for your review: flash cards, quizzes, fill-in-the-blank, timelines, flow chart diagrams, maps, compass graphs, assessments, experiences, and classrooms.

Study Guide Drafting

Describe the guide you want, optionally upload notes or curriculum files, and watch the draft stream into your study guide section by section.

How the two tools differ

  • The Creation Assistant proposes; you approve. It always shows you a preview — the title, item counts, sample content, and which of your materials it used — and nothing is created until you click Create it. Discarded drafts leave nothing behind.
  • Study Guide drafting saves as it writes. Generated sections land directly in your guide as they complete. If the guide is published and linked to a classroom, saved AI content is visible to students immediately — draft in an unpublished guide first if you want a review step.
  • Separate usage limits. Study Guide drafting allows ten generations per hour. The Creation Assistant allows five generations per day and twenty per month, with one free refinement per draft. Both meters appear in Account Settings → AI Usage, and the Creation Assistant’s daily meter also appears on your dashboard.
  • AI is always optional. Everything either tool can make can also be authored entirely by hand.

Privacy and your content

Your prompt and any files you attach are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate your draft. ChimeEdu does not keep the material you submit — the usage log records only metadata (the model used, token counts, and whether the request succeeded). Google Drive files you pick are read transiently for that request only and never stored. Generated content is kept only when it is saved into a study guide or created as an activity by design. Attached files are treated strictly as reference material — the AI is instructed to draw factual content only from what you provide and to ignore anything in a file that looks like instructions.
