Creating a classroom is the first step to organizing your teaching on ChimeEdu. Once your classroom is set up, every activity, assessment, study guide, and experience you publish will appear automatically in your students’ feed — no extra sharing required. The whole process takes less than a minute.

Create a classroom

Sign in to your ChimeEdu account

Go to app.chimeedu.com and sign in with your teacher account. You’ll land on your dashboard, which shows all your existing classrooms and recent activity.

Click Create Classroom

From your dashboard, click the Create Classroom button. This opens the classroom creation form.

Name your classroom

Give your classroom a clear, descriptive name. A good name makes it easy for you to manage multiple classrooms and helps students immediately recognize which class they’re looking at.See Organizing your classrooms below for naming tips.

Your classroom is ready

ChimeEdu creates your classroom instantly. You’ll be taken directly to your new classroom, where you can start publishing content or customize settings straight away.

Share the join link with your students

Copy the classroom join link and share it with your students. Once they click the link and enrol, they’ll have access to everything you publish in this classroom going forward.See Enroll Students for the full enrollment guide.
You can create as many classrooms as your plan allows. Free accounts include 1 classroom. Plus (coming soon) includes 5, and Premium (coming soon) includes 25. Tier changes are made by the ChimeEdu team during the Alpha — there is no self-serve upgrade screen yet, so get in touch if you need more classrooms.

Organizing your classrooms

ChimeEdu gives you full flexibility in how you name and structure your classrooms. Choose a convention that matches the way you already think about your timetable:
  • By subject — e.g., 8th grade History, AP Biology, English Literature
  • By grade level — e.g., 6th grade Homeroom, Grade 10 Core
  • By period or block — e.g., Period 3 — Geography, Block B Science
  • By term — e.g., Spring Term Chemistry, Semester 1 Math
You can create multiple classrooms for the same subject — for example, one classroom per period if you teach the same course to different groups. Each classroom has its own independent enrollment, activity feed, and submission tracking, so nothing crosses between your classes.

Publishing content to a classroom

Once your classroom exists, publishing content to it is automatic. Whenever you create a new activity, assessment, study guide, or experience and assign it to a classroom, it appears immediately in the feed for every enrolled student — no manual sharing step needed. Students who enrol after you’ve published content can still access everything you’ve already published. The full feed is always visible to all enrolled students.
