Creating a Study Guide
1
Open New Study Guide
From your teacher dashboard, click New Study Guide to open the editor.
2
Write your content
Use the rich text editor to write and format your material. Add headings, bullet points, images, and embedded media as you go.
3
Organise into sections and subsections
Break your content into logical sections and nest subsections underneath. Students can collapse sections they’ve already reviewed, making the guide easier to navigate under pressure.
4
Add images or media
Insert images, video embeds, or other media blocks at any point in the guide to illustrate key concepts.
5
Link Google Drive files (optional)
Attach relevant files or folders from your institution’s Google Drive so students can access supporting documents without leaving the platform. Available on Plus and Premium plans.
6
Publish to your classroom
Set visibility to Published. The guide appears immediately in the activity feed of every enrolled student — no sharing link required.
Hierarchical Sections
Well-organised structure is what separates a useful study guide from a wall of text. ChimeEdu lets you nest sections inside sections, giving students a clear map of the material. Each section can be collapsed or expanded independently, so a student revising one topic isn’t distracted by the content of another. Build the hierarchy that matches how you teach the subject, and it will feel natural to the students who already know your approach.Google Drive Integration
If your institution uses Google Drive, you can link files and folders directly into any Study Guide. The linked content always reflects the current version of the Drive file — so if you update a worksheet or add a document to a folder, students see the change automatically. There is no need to re-upload or re-publish the guide. Google Drive integration is available on Plus and Premium plans.Controlled Access
A Study Guide is only visible to students enrolled in the classroom it is linked to. You control exactly when it goes live — keep it in draft while you’re still editing, and publish when it’s ready. Students outside the classroom cannot access it, and there are no public sharing links to manage.AI-Assisted Drafting
AI-assisted drafting is a Premium feature. See the AI Tools section for a full overview of what ChimeEdu AI can do.
The OpenDyslexic font option is available inside Study Guides for students who need it. Students can switch to OpenDyslexic from their reading preferences without any action required from you.
